April 16, 2012 – Schaumburg, IL – The Shelter Comedy is proud to be bringing their unique brand of theatrical improvisation back to Laugh Out Loud in The Streets of Woodfield. Hot on the heels of their wildly successful Dec 2011 run of A Holiday Special the Shelter returns with Improvised Road Trip.

The Shelter Comedy makes it a gas to run out of gas. This is a wild, sweet and sometimes dysfunctional vacation portrayed in a night of fully improvised fun. Come ready to see your best and worst vacation stories brought to life in the form of a completely new road trip themed one-act play every week. You provide the inspiration, and the actors of The Shelter provide a narrative story that will have you in tears of laughter. A must see survival guide to the family vacation season. Shows are appropriate for 18+ and are geared more towards grown ups. Tickets are $12.

The cast of Improvised Road Trip includes some of the top improvisers in Chicago with years of improv experience. These actors have performed at such respected comedy institutions as iO (formally ImprovOlympic), Second City, The Annoyance and ComedySportz.

“The Shelter did a Christmas show here and if that show were a Christmas present, it was a box-load of funny,” says Laugh Out Loud owner Lillie Frances. “I’ve worked with them over the past few years and they are consistently hilarious. I just had to get them back in the theater in 2012. Don’t just believe me, come see for yourself.”

The Shelter Comedy has been generating comedic short films and live one-act plays created through the joy of improvisation for the past four years. Ensemble members include: Peter Athans, Harz Sondricker, Demian Krentz, and Megan Farris.
